What on earth is this ‘eco event box'?

It all started with a message from a mum new to the area. Did I know where she could hire a reusable party kit from? ‘A what?’ I asked. Five minutes of googling later and I knew this was something Tea, Cake and Parenting should be doing.

As the Eco Event Box is new to Tea, Cake and Parenting and honestly a completely new idea to Madeleine and I, I thought I’d run down the quick what, where, when, why and how of it all!

What?
A party in a box! Rather than buying a lot of disposable plates and cups for your kids party, you can hire a set of up to 36 colourful IKEA kids plates, cups, bowls and cutlery. You can also borrow serving dishes, platters and even a set of 12 adult plates and wine glasses. All reusable plastic.

Where?
Simply collect from Cat’s house (SW14 8BZ) and return in when you’re done.

When?
Whenever you want it. Just check availability with us and arrange pick and collection at a mutually convenient time with Cat.

Why? Rather than throwing away a bag of paper or plastic plates and cups and the end of your party, you can feel good about the planet and save some waste. It’s also pretty cost effective, only £5 to hire anything from our range for up to 72 hours.

How?
Follow the link to the booking form on our ‘Going Green East Sheen’ page and choose exactly what you want in your box. https://sites.google.com/s/1inU3WRh2N-zZ57XF7z251DxsAv_cF7Kc/p/1VyDJnohDEallY5NwIXsnPtBkZf9Z6if-/edit

When the time comes, collect your box, have a great party, give it all a wash the return ready for the next amazing eco party.

Surviving this world without school - 5 things I've learned.

I started writing this blog in the week that the school closure was announced. That's four weeks ago now. I think that tells you how productive I've been since then. Four weeks of this strange new world. Maybe you're hitting your stride, or maybe you're running out of ideas and feeling panicked about the weeks stretching out before you! Chances are it's a bit of both. I'm certainly finding some positive and negatives. Its been lovely seeing my two play more creatively and spend more time together. Having a four year age gap, this is the first time they've really been in each others lives full time. On the flip side, the noise level is really getting to me! So no particular order, here's my top 5 things I've learned so far... 1) My 2 to is much harder than my 6yo. I really wasn't expecting this. My 6yo has never been good at self entertainment while my 2yo usually potters happily around the house with me. Turns out the 6yo has adapted much b...
